The Ward family know what it’s like to pass the winning post and secure their perfect Bewley home at Equestrian Walk in Arborfield near Reading.
Laura,29, husband Rick,30, and their three children, Grace 11, Harry 8 and Oliver 2, along with family dog Ruby, moved into their three-storey semi-detached house on the 18th December, just in time to enjoy Christmas.
And the family haven’t looked back, knowing they made the best decision of their lives. The Wards paid £494,000 for their home and benefited from the Stamp Duty holiday. The Welford is a stylishly designed home with airy accommodation laid out over three spacious floors. This includes a stunning master suite occupying the entire second floor, comprising a large bedroom with ample built-in wardrobes, a walk-in dressing room and luxury en suite bathroom.
Laura recalled: “We had always thought that a three-storey house would not be big enough and this stopped us from viewing one before. We were moving from a four bedroom to a three bedroom property, so it was crucial that the boys’ bedroom would be large enough for them to share. But as soon as we walked into The Welford, we knew it was exactly the home we wanted and were amazed at how generous the bedrooms were.”
Laura added: “We love our master bedroom suite being on the top floor because it gives Rick and I our own private space to relax, and the children have their own rooms on the middle floor. We think the finish and quality of the build inside and out, including the layout of the garden, is brilliant. It already feels like our home.”
For Laura and Rick, The Welford ticked all their boxes and more. The whole house had a sense of space enough for a growing family and a decent sized garden for football and Ruby to play. They wanted a good-sized utility area for all that dirty football kit and Ruby to dry off! Rick, a motor technician, also felt having a garage was a massive bonus.
The family, from nearby Winnersh, were keen to praise the ‘extraordinary efforts’ and help from the sales team at Bewley Homes, who, ‘went above and beyond’, to help the family move in just before Christmas.
Legal executive, Laura explained: “We had been looking to move back to Arborfield for some time as my family live here and it’s where I grew up. We actually visited the development on the day Bewley launched it. Originally, we looked at the show home with the intention of buying an identical plot. But when we turned up, the Bewley team told us that The Welford had just become available again. We were keen to consider it because it was larger but still within our budget.”
Rick commented: “Everything is literally a few minutes’ walk away. We love the catchment area for schools, which was one of our drivers for the move with The Bohunt, a fantastic secondary school for our daughter and with our children already at the local schools. We have lovely walks for the dog on our doorstep and it’s such a perfect location for our work. My son plays for the local football team so now we can all walk to matches.”
Arborfield Green is Berkshire’s newest 21st Century ‘Garden Village’ community; created and designed by Bewley Homes to provide residents with a perfect balance of village and country living. Built on the site of a 112-year-old garrison, originally a veterinary hospital for wounded horses in World War I, Equestrian Walk is named by Bewley to commemorate this service.
Elaine Stratford, sales and marketing director at Bewley Homes, said: “We are delighted to hear the Ward’s have fallen in love with their home and the area. Arborfield Green is a great location, a lovely place to put roots down and perfect for families with great schools on the doorstep.”
Equestrian Walk comprises of an exceptional collection of contemporary two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses. The development is located to Shinfield, Wokingham and Reading with easy access to the M4.
