Children from a Reading Primary School made a special thank you card for Baughurst based Bewley Homes after it donated 15 re-purposed computers to help pupils with homeworking during the lockdown.
Bewley Homes’ Managing Director, Andrew Brooks, received a card decorated and signed by over 30 children from the Manor Primary school on Ashampstead Road.
Bewley Homes’ IT providers did the refurbishment and set up of the computers free of charge which are now set up in a dedicated computer room at the school.
Fiona Swain, Headteacher at Manor Primary school, said: “It was the children’s idea to make the card and send to Bewley Homes as a big thank you. It was a wonderful gesture from Bewley Homes and the children really appreciated it and are enjoying using the PCs.”
Finance Director at Bewley Homes, Terry Bacon, added: “The thank you card made all our day! It was lovely to hear the computers were useful and are now being used by pupils. The card will have pride of place at Bewley’s head office. I would encourage all companies to look at the hardware they have and if they don’t use it, find a local school who really needs the extra IT support.”
