On your bikes! Bewley buys bikes for two Faringdon families as part of its 30th anniversary campaign

Two families from Faringdon are now realising a dream – owning their own set of bicycles  – all thanks to a housebuilder Bewley Homes.

The ‘Bewley Backs Bikes’, part of the company’s 30th-anniversary initiatives, sets out to encourage families to learn how to ride safely on public roads. The company also wanted to find families who would really appreciate a new set of bikes.

David Williamson from Farcycles in Faringdon, said: “Bewley reached out to us and asked if we knew a deserving family who didn’t have bicycles. We spoke to Faringdon primary school, and they did the rest. Bewley bought the bikes from the Farcycles shop, so everyone benefitted!”

The bicycles were handed over to the families by Bewley Homes’ sales manager Stuart Locke at the Faringdon Cycle Park.

A grateful Sam Martinez said: “This is a brilliant gesture by Bewley and we can’t thank them enough. It’s given us all a bit of freedom. Spencer is over the moon with his bike. He just needs to learn to ride it now!”

Andrew Brooks, Managing Director at Bewley Homes, said: “The main message is we want to encourage families to enjoy cycling together safely and giving these bikes to the families was our way of helping a little bit further.”

Elaine Stratford, Sales and Marketing Director, added: “The Bewley Backs Bikes is going from strength to strength and is helping families all over the south of England enjoy safe cycling.”

Bewley Homes has been receiving ringing endorsements from buyers at Bellmount View, its new development in Faringdon.

Visitors to the stunning four-bedroom show home were impressed with what they’ve viewed, with eight sales recorded in the first month.
