Barely a week after The Watkins family of four, along with their two cats, moved into their £510,000, four bedroom detached home in the Oxfordshire village of Faringdon and they cannot imagine living anywhere else.
Josh and Stephanie, both 36, wanted to find a new build that would provide a long-term home in a place they knew they would never want to leave. Finding a home where their two young children would grow up in a friendly safe country environment was of paramount importance. Bewley Homes’ Bellmount View ticked those boxes with added bonus of great location with convenient access to excellent schools and surrounding amenities.
Josh explained: “For both of us having good access to our places of work was essential. I am an engineer at BMWs factory based in Oxford and Steph is a nurse. We did look at another local residential scheme nearby, but when we came to Bellmount View, the high level of finish and build quality could not be beaten.”
The couple wanted peace of mind and took up the Bewley Bond and part exchanged their former property for their new four-bedroom home, with the sales team supporting them the entire way through. It’s a decision thy recommend to others.
Josh added: “The Bewley Bond and using Bewley to handle the part exchange process, gave us such reassurance. It meant we could make definite moving plans and know that we would eventually be in this fantastic property. Danielle and Steve from Bewley’s sales team were fantastic throughout, regularly updating us and ensuring the buying process went as smoothly as it could.”
For busy working mother Stephanie, the joy of moving into a new home that has such a generous, practical and well-designed layout, is one of ‘the best feelings’. She said: “We have a fabulous open plan kitchen/dining room with doors leading directly out onto the patio and large private garden. This is the real hub of the home and means the children, Wilf 3 and 9 month old baby Adeline can play happily, while I cook and watch over them at the same time.”
Stephanie cannot believe how having practical space like a utility room with a tumble dryer, is making everyday life with young children so much easier. “I don’t need to have clothes hanging up on show, I can shut the door when the machine is in action and have plenty of storage space to keep everything tucked away and tidy, out of the children’s way.”
The layout of the four bedroom detached property also offers a downstairs study. While the children are young, the Watkins are using the space as a play room and have the fourth bedroom as a bedroom but with a desk set up for when they want to use a laptop.
Josh said: “The clever configuration of space and room layout means that not only do we have the kitchen/diner as the heart of the house, but we also have the living room as our ‘grown-up’ space, which we can keep as a lovely calm tidy room and enjoy ‘movie nights’, because we have the benefit of a play room to store all the books and children’s toys.
For the Watkins, the fact that their plot looks out across fields and include a view towards Faringdon folly is something they look forward to seeing every day. The family love being outside and walking and exploring the local lanes, fields and woods.
The collection of homes at Bellmount View includes two, three, four bedroom properties with prices ranging from £405,000 to £565,000.
Elaine Stratford, Sales and Marketing director at Bewley Homes, commented: “Bellmount View is another successful addition to our Garden Village Collection that appeals to all generations of buyers looking for a high standard of build and a wonderful location with a country aspect. This part of Oxfordshire is a popular choice for families with fantastic nurseries and schools nearby and many amenities to suit all ages. It benefits from excellent transport links, easy access to the M40 and fast rail links into London.”
