As Sarah and Paul Coombs arrived at Bewley Homes’ Lancaster Park in Hungerford for their first visit making a decision to buy was easy – it felt like home.
Now the couple, along with their 10-month-old Cockerpoo, cannot wait for the new year to arrive when they can move into their new detached three-bedroom home.
Sarah explained: “When we approached Lancaster Park, we just got a wonderful sense of being at home – it felt right. We both love how it has been designed and Bewley has blended the classic architectural style with the rural setting perfectly. We get a thrill about thinking about living there every time we drive past to see our house progressing.”
Paul added: “The location of this development is second to none. We can step outside our front door and we’re standing in the North Wessex Downs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s unbelievable.”
For The Coombs, it was also essential to have a house that maximises space, provides ample room for entertaining and showcases exceptional design features. Paul added: “Nothing else we looked at before Lancaster Park could match the setting, the attention to detail, the craftsmanship and flair for design. Our plot is a very good size being on the corner end with a garage and parking.”
Sarah enthused: “We particularly love the ‘hub’ design layout which makes use of every inch of space, provides a utility room and lots of practical storage. Having a master bedroom that includes two generous walk-in wardrobes and a large ensuite shower feels very luxurious. Paul and I were bowled over by the large airy kitchen/dining room with French doors leading out onto the patio and garden – it has a real ‘wow’ factor and will be a perfect room for entertaining all year round.”
Sarah feels the sales team at Bewley have become more like friends, always being on hand to help and support them through the process. Sarah said: “Gemma and Emma at Bewley have been such a massive help and I feel that they can never do enough for us.”
The couple can’t wait to make the finishing touches once they move in. In the meantime, they are enjoying discovering local life in Hungerford with its independent shops, delicatessen, traditional country pubs, coffee shops and bars. Just a few miles to the west is the Wiltshire town of Marlborough, one of Sarah’s favourite shopping haunts and a source of inspiration for planning her interiors in the new home. Sales Director at Bewley Homes, Elaine Stratford, commented: “Buying a new home is a wonderful opportunity to ensure that the way you want to live is reflected in the internal layout of the property and the key areas and rooms.
“It is lovely to hear of these customers doing just that, as well as really looking at the location and to enjoy what that also brings to them. We work hard to ensure that there is plenty of choice and locations for developments are given great attention to give the best combination. Buyers are surprised just how many features they truly love, and our message is ‘come and see the Bewley difference.’”
Hungerford is a pretty old Berkshire market town surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty, woodland and rolling hills bordering Hampshire and Wiltshire. It has a direct train link into London Waterloo and is close for access to both the A34 and M4.
