Howzat for a stunning new development? Rowledge Cricket chairman helps Bewley break ground at new site in the village.

15 May 2023

Rowledge Cricket Club’s chairman, Carl Baker, joined Sales Manager, Brett Reeves, to officially break ground on an exclusive new development in the village by premium housebuilder Bewley Homes.

Situated on a picturesque tree lined street in Rowledge, near Farnham, The Wickets will comprise 10 detached and semi-detached homes that will benefit from off road parking, garages, and a superb internal specification, including designer kitchens with integrated appliances.

The new development is set to offer discerning buyers a rare opportunity to own a brand new Bewley home in one Surrey’s most sought-after locations.  The Bewley name is recognised across Surrey and the south-east, for its sought-after developments, and the company has just achieved an Outstanding award for the sixth year in its customer service scores.

‘The Wickets’ was named after the well know local cricket club, believed to be one of the oldest cricket grounds in England dating back to 1887. It has over 500 members which offer cricket for boys and girls of all ages, from five year olds to 19, as well as three senior sides that play each week.

In addition to a choice of stunning home designs, The Wickets will also feature landscaped gardens offering residents a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The development is also located just a short distance from local amenities, including shops, restaurants, and highly rated schools.

In keeping with the housebuilder’s commitment to support local organisations, charities, and schools where it builds, Bewley has donated to help support the cricket club for the 2023 season.

“It looks like a beautiful location to buy a new home,” said Carl Baker, Chairman of Rowledge Cricket Club. “On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank Bewley for its support this season.”

Elaine Stratford, Sales and Marketing Director at Bewley Homes, commented: “This exclusive development offers a rare opportunity to buy a property in the highly desirable village of Rowledge which doesn’t come around very often.

“As you would expect we have received considerable interest and will be launching off plan through Romans Estate Agents shortly.  My own father was a very keen wicket keeper and having an association with the club and a development named The Wickets, this has a lovely personal link, let alone the recognition that exercise and sport aid mental health and fitness for all involved. Spectators will also get the fresh air and a chance to relax!”

Tim Foreman, New Homes’ Director for Romans, added: “We cannot wait to get the ball rolling on this very intimate scheme of 10 properties.   We have worked many times with Bewley before and have great synergy with its customer service ethos.  Our two companies will work together to deliver a fantastic customer offering here, but I don’t expect the homes to be on the market for any length of time and so we urge prospective buyers to register their interest early.”
