Members of Mortimer West End Cricket Club were literally bowled over by the generosity of Bewley Homes this month when the local housebuilder made a much-needed donation, completing the fundraising needed for club equipment.
The club, based in Mortimer West End, near Reading, can now purchase a much-needed new roller after an extensive fundraising campaign left it £600 short.
Bewley Homes, based near Tadley, were only too pleased to help complete the fundraising as Andrew Brooks, Managing Director at Bewley Homes, explained: “We totally understood how important this new piece of machinery would be to the club and were delighted to support the cause. Bewley has been supporting local community groups, clubs, schools and charities in the region and further afield for over 30 years and will continue to do so where possible.”
Chairman of Mortimer West End Cricket Club, Andrew Williams, said: “We can’t thank Bewley Homes enough for this donation which now enables us to buy a new roller so our members can continue to play on excellent pitches in the future, and our groundsman will now have a machine he can rely on!”
