Betty and Thomas Bradfield had almost given up hope of finding a new home in Oxfordshire until they were recommended Bewley Homes’ Marlborough Gardens.
The couple had done their research and visited a few developments, but they were always disappointing. Ironically, it was on one of these viewings at another housebuilder’s site, that the sales manager told them about Bewley’s Marlborough Gardens and actually encouraged them to go and visit!
Thomas and Betty did exactly that and as they drove into the site entrance had a warm feeling. Betty remembered: “We both knew instantly that this was where we both wanted to live and that was before we’d even stepped inside the gorgeous show house! The overall development has been so well designed with architecture that reflects the natural setting. First impressions are so important and each house is extremely attractive with great kerb appeal. We both looked at each other and said ‘this is the one!’”
It’s now barely a month since the first new residents moved into their £590,000 four bedroom detached home at Marlborough Gardens and their first instincts were right. Located in this attractive Oxfordshire village, this is award-winning housebuilder Bewley Homes’ most recent ‘Garden Village Collection’ of just 50 stylish comfortable homes.
Downsizers, Betty 77 and Thomas Bradfield 82 are overjoyed to be starting a new exciting chapter of living. They wanted to move and downsize from a much larger four-bedroom property in Reading, to be nearer their daughter and son-in-law in nearby Wilcote, who had recently moved back from Singapore.
Thomas added: “The key factor about our new home is that it is compact but not tight on space. So much care and attention to detail in the layout and accommodation flow on both floors, has made us feel spoiled for room and there’s been no compromise on a feeling of light and space. Having a separate study downstairs is a great example of this and still having large living and entertaining space.”
Fortunately for the Bradfields, the show house at Marlborough Gardens was exactly the same as the house they wanted to purchase, so the couple were immediately able to imagine how they could use the space and what it would feel like living there. “To say there was a wow factor is an understatement,” added Betty.
Betty and Thomas cannot fault the Bewley way of looking after people. They said that arriving at the impressive development ‘set the tone’, then receiving excellent attention from the on-site sales team and David and Debbie, just made the buying process a positive experience from beginning to end. The Bradfields took advantage of the ‘Bewley Bond’ to secure their new home which made them feel secure.
The couple, who love walking and getting out to explore the lovely surroundings, are relishing the thought of a first Christmas in a new home that is so energy-efficient, practical and easy to run and maintain. As Thomas mentioned: “Everything about living here is positive, the house is exceptionally well built, eco-efficient features and designed for relaxed everyday living inside and out in the garden.”
