Bewley Park in Bath Road, Reading comprises development of some 78 properties situated on the former Bath Road reservoir site just a short distance from Reading Town Centre and convenient to the main line railway station. The first phase of the development comprised a Grade II Listed water tower and the pump house, both of which are in the process of being tastefully converted into apartments whilst retaining original historical character and features forgotten over the past decades. The water tower itself was built in 1870 but was last used in the 1970s.
The weekend was set, the sun was shining and from nowhere a large top hat tipi tent was installed adjacent to the newly created knot garden to the side of the listed tower building. The development through its advertising, branding and locals knowledge of the site, resulted in a marketing campaign over just a two day period with in excess of 100 visitors to the tipi. The tipi contained an open fire, a full gallery of features, floor plans and even a scale model of the complete Bewley Park development for all to see and discuss. Following the two day marketing period, all 10 conversions were reserved and all units have now exchanged contracts awaiting formal legal completion at the end of August / September 2014.
Watch this space for the pending release of phase 2, the first of the new character properties anticipated the end of September 2014.
