Design led developer, Bewley Homes, has announced it will be sponsoring the Sherfield on Loddon Reindeer Trail on 15 December.
Organised by local volunteers as a fun and festive way for families to raise much needed funds for Hampshire based charity, Sebastian’s Action Trust, this is the second year the event has run. In addition to the trail, which takes place around the 36 acre village green, there will be plenty of other activities on offer including carol singing, face painting, pig racing and biscuit decorating. The day will start at 10.30am at The Pavilion, Goddards Lane, Sherfield on Loddon.
Organiser, John Attwood, comments: “Last year, we welcomed 100 families and raised £450 of much needed money for Sebastian’s Action Trust. We are very much hoping that we will exceed this amount in this year’s event. We all appreciate that the lead up to Christmas can be an expensive time of the year which is why we have deliberately kept the entrance fee at £1 and we hope this, along with the desire to celebrate the festive season and fundraise for this worthwhile cause, will encourage as many families as possible to participate.”
Elaine Stratford, Sales and Marketing Director at Bewley Homes, adds: “Bewley Homes has a long and proud association with Sebastian’s Action Trust. Its origins lie in helping the charity to source the land, obtain planning permission and build their North Waltham flagship facility – The Bluebells.
“Sebastian’s Action Trust provides emotional, social and practical support for children with life-threatening or life limiting illnesses, and their families, assisting from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond; and respite breaks at the The Bluebells.
“Throughout the year, members of the Bewley team undertake a number of initiatives, ranging from fundraising walks and cycle rides, to fundraise for this incredible charity. Most recently, we presented Jane Gates OBE, Chief Executive of Sebastian’s Action Trust, with a cheque for £24,691 which has helped to add specialist facilities to the Trust’s latest acquisition, The Woodlands in Crowthorne, Berkshire.
“It is central to our ethos at Bewley to support the communities in which we live, work and build and so, when we were presented with the opportunity to sponsor an event local to one of our developments in aid of the Sebastian’s Action Trust, we naturally wanted to get on board.”
Bewley Homes is currently constructing Centenary Fields which will feature a total of fifty 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom new homes amidst plenty of wide, open space including several communal play areas and is situated close to all the amenities the beautiful leafy village of Bramley has to offer including a village shop (with Post Office), doctor’s surgery, Church, public house, bakery, barber and village hall.
