Bewley Homes has secured planning consent for 28 new homes on the edge of the attractive town of Calne in Wiltshire.
Bewley will build its award-winning Garden Village Collection which will comprise of eight affordable and 20 detached private homes. The site at Chilvester Hill, is within a short walk of the town centre but adjoins open countryside and has many attractive, listed, Cotswold stone buildings nearby.
Bewley views this as a perfect site to grow its operational area into the West following on from a number of sites which, in the past year, the company has secured planning permission for and built in North Leigh, Faringdon and Hungerford.
Andrew Brooks, Managing Director at Bewley Homes, said: “We are delighted to receive planning consent on this site in Calne which our design and planning team worked incredibly hard to obtain, as well as the communications team of Turley.
“This important site will enable us to create a stunning development forming a new community in the town so that our homes both sit comfortably within their surroundings and have a positive impact on the local vernacular due to the high quality of design and materials. We are actively looking for land in similar parts of the country as well as the Home Counties and Oxfordshire.”
