Bewley Homes has promoted Emily Corfield to Development Manager as the company expands its land team. Joining the award-winning housebuilder in 2021 as a Development Planner, Emily has taken on a more senior role and moved into land acquisitions last November.
Working closely with external consultants and stakeholders including landowners, Emily is building new relationships with land agents and increasing cross-functional working with other departments internally.
In her new management role, Emily is looking forward to having the opportunity to mentor and train junior colleagues as the team and business grows.
Over the last two years, Emily has emersed herself into the company joining the Employee Engagement Forum which aims to improve business communications, inter-departmental working, and staff benefits, as well as the ‘Strictly Social’ Committee, organising quarterly social events for Bewley employees.
She has recently trained as a Mental Health Champion, supporting colleagues in this vitally important role, as well as training for the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge this summer to raise money for Sebastian’s Action Trust, a hospice that supports families who have seriously ill children.
Emily said: “My previous role focussed on managing planning applications and advising the business on planning strategy. Whilst still managing a few of my ongoing larger planning projects and appeals, I am excited to be moving across into land. I will continue to provide senior planning advice to the business whilst acquiring land and formulating bids for sites of interest.”
She added: “It’s a pleasure to be able to grow my career at Bewley. Bewley’s land team have a fantastic reputation in the industry for keeping its word and making quick decisions, with clear and honest communication throughout the land and planning process. We are busy and actively looking for sites so there are plenty of opportunities and exciting projects for me to lead and get involved with. The company itself is long-established and operates in a wide area across the south-east which brings variety, opportunity and a diversity of land sites.”
“I am privileged to have the opportunity to take part in so many excellent initiatives whilst surrounded by such a supportive team. I am very much looking forward to continuing to progress my career within the Bewley land team and as a part of the wider business.”
Andrew Brooks, Managing Director of Bewley Homes commented: “We are delighted with Emily’s passion, commitment and zest for life. She is a role model for younger members of staff who want a fulfilling career at the company which can develop and take different paths.”
