21 Jun 2018

The Bewley Homes annual Golf Fundraising Day took place on Wednesday 13 June at Sandford Springs Hotel & Golf Club near Kingsclere. Thirty seven teams of golfers gathered to play 18 holes of golf and 190 people attended the evening dinner, which included a raffle and charity auction.

Amongst the highly coveted auction items were a meal at the two Michelin starred Hand and Flowers Restaurant in Marlow; Mercedes F1 Merchandise, signed by Lewis Hamilton; holidays in Salcombe and Appledore; a visit to London’s Shard and dinner at Marco Pierre White’s Italian Diner; a De Havilland Rapide Flight for two over London; a Champneys paper break; and tickets to England v. India (test match) at the Ageas Bowl, to name but a few.

This year, the event raised in excess of £27,000 and will be donated to Bewley’s chosen charities – Sebastian’s Action Trust which provides emotional, social and practical support for children with life-threatening or life limiting illnesses, and their families, walking alongside them from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond; and Breakthrough Learning, an exciting new charity to help children and adults develop their thinking skills and equip them with the learning skills they need to succeed in the rapidly changing 21st century.

Simon Taphouse, Commercial Director at Bewley Homes, says: “I want to thank all those who supported and sponsored this year’s Bewley Golf Fundraising Day, the result of which has raised over £27,000. This will be used to support communities at a local level through our chosen charities of Sebastian’s Action Trust and Breakthrough Learning.”
