Bewley Homes donates over £14,000 raised at a summer fundraiser day

Bewley Homes has presented the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance (KSSAAT) with a cheque for £14,184.89 raised at a charity golf day and auction fundraiser this summer. A charity close to Bewley Homes’ heart, the Air Ambulance provides vital pre-hospital care across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and the borders of Hampshire and it is the only Helicopter Emergency Medical Service in the country to operate 24 hours a day.

The charity day which took place in July at the Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club in Kingsclere was organised in memory of a Bewley Homes employee who sadly passed away in 2014. A poignant day for all Bewley Homes staff, it was also an opportunity to give generously to a great cause. Attended by over 145 special guests and Bewley Homes employees the day got off to a fantastic start with a sunny round of golf on two of the hotel’s three courses.

The real excitement started when the auction began and the hammer went down on the first lot for the evening. A varied and generous selection of prizes, guests could bid for their favourite including a number of activities and experiences. Sport enthusiasts could bid for a bespoke Brompton Bicycle and a framed and autographed shirt by the legendary All Blacks Rugby Union player Zinzan Brooke. For those interested in a more indulgent experience; a weekend away in the beautiful village of Salcombe, a visit to the Shard and dinner at Del Mercanto’s restaurant and a Gin Cocktail Masterclass were the perfect prize. Inhurst Landscapes, Bewley Homes’ in-house landscaping team also provided a comprehensive garden design package, including a consultation and masterplan.

Adrian Bell, Chief Executive of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance said, “We are indebted to Bewley Homes for putting on such a wonderful golf day and we are also hugely grateful to all who took part for their very generous support. Such a day cannot succeed without a lot of hard work and effort and so we are also extremely grateful to all those who organised this great event.”

Bewley Homes’ Sales and Marketing Director Neil Simpson adds, “The day was a real success and gave the company and community a chance to help a much deserving charity, whilst remembering our dear friend.”

Bewley Homes’ charity golf day proved such a success it has already planned next year’s event due to take place at Sandford Springs on Wednesday 29th June 2016.
