Bewley Homes presented a cheque this week for more than £24,000 to the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance following their recent Charity Golf Day, which took place at Sandford Springs Hotel & Golf Club in memory of their employee, Charlotte Riches.
The day consisted of 32 teams of four golfers, followed by an evening meal which included an auction and a raffle. Auction items included an overnight stay in a luxury London hotel, four tickets to the England v Scotland Football World Cup qualifier, and tickets to the 2016 MotoGP at Silverstone.
Bewley Homes’ staff, their sub-contractors and suppliers who took part in the Golf Day, all helped to contribute to the total amount of money raised, which reached £24,345.68.
Bewley Homes and Charlotte’s parents have been great supporters of the charity. This money, and that raised last year, will be used to purchase a simulator which will enable the charity to better conduct training for their crews. This is hugely important in ensuring the safe delivery of a 24-hour Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), and will enable the charity to continue to develop and innovate.

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust is a charity which provides a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for patients in the region who have suffered trauma or serious medical emergencies. We rely almost entirely on kind donations from the public in order to raise the £6.5million it costs each year to continue our life-saving work.
