Management Accountant

Reporting to: Financial Controller

This role would suit a finalist or newly qualified accountant looking to progress their career with a fast growing and supportive business.

Main responsibilities

  • Producing monthly management accounts and board papers to a tight deadline (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, sales reports etc.)

  • Preparation of key weekly management reports in Excel.

  • Assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of budgets, quarterly reviews

  • Liaising with the construction, technical, commercial, land and sales departments.

  • Managing and forecasting cash on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Assisting the Financial Controller with the preparation of the year end audit file and managing the annual audit process.

  • Other ad hoc projects as required by the Financial Controller.

Skills and Experience Required


  • 4 years of experience in the Finance function working to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent IT skills (especially Microsoft Excel).

  • A team player with good communication skills.

  • Able to take responsibility for key Finance functions with minimal supervision.


  • Experience in the residential housebuilding industry.

  • Experience with the COINS construction industry software system.


  • Basic Salary £40,000 – £45,000 (dependent on stage of accounting qualification and experience).

  • Annual Bonus 10% of Basic Salary based on performance.
