Bewley Homes raises over £28,000 in annual golf day fundraiser
The Bewley Homes annual Golf Fundraising Day took place on Thursday 29 June at Sandford Springs Hotel & Golf Club near Kingsclere. Thirty two teams of golfers played 18 holes of golf and 180 people attended the evening dinner, which was followed by a raffle and charity auction.
Amongst the many prizes being auctioned were tickets to the England v West Indies ODI at The Ageus Bowl; a kitchen table experience at Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill; and holiday accommodation for a week in a selection of glittering locations from Salcombe to Spain.
The event raised an extraordinary £28,810 in aid of two important charities - Sebastian’s Action Trust which provides emotional, social and practical support for children with life-threatening or life limiting illnesses, and their families, assisting from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond; and The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Simon Taphouse, Commercial Director at Bewley Homes, says: “Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is central to our ethos at Bewley Homes.
“The money raised from the 2017 Bewley Golf Day has funded the Sebastian Action Trust’s Christmas in July party which brings the sparkle and shine of Christmas early to seriously ill children. It has also been used to sponsor a new guide dog puppy, now that Bewley’s previously sponsored dog has successfully completed his two year training.
“We have chosen to support these particular causes, not only because they are incredibly worthwhile but also because we know the money raised will help at a local level.”
