We believe that the health and safety of our customers and colleagues is our number one priority and we are doing all that we can to assist in containing the spread of COVID-19.

You may be aware that currently our construction sites are closed, and our sales team has been working remotely over the past weeks, whilst the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions apply.

We took the decision to close ahead of the current lockdown, with the health of all associated workforces and customers in mind. Whilst construction is deemed a permitted activity by the UK government, at that time we were not satisfied that we could adequately modify our working procedures to adhere to strict social distancing guidance in a short space of time.

We are now planning a measured and safe return to our sites

As you are aware, we made the decision to stop construction on sites and move our sales team to remote working prior to the wider Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. We took this decision for health and safety reasons. Whilst construction was deemed a permitted activity by the government, at that time we were not satisfied that we could adequately modify our working practices to adhere to the strict social distancing guidance, in a short space of time. We are not prepared to compromise on health and safety at any time.

We are now starting the process of remobilising our construction team in a controlled and managed way and aim to reopen our sites in June. We believe it is important that we have in place all reasonable safety procedures and that we put people first before returning to work. Over the next few weeks, we will be setting up our sites so that we can work within and go beyond the guidance given to make sure that everyone is protected when they return.

We continue to be available for our new customers online and by telephone

Bewley Homes remains open for business through our website, telephone and via video conference calls supported by our dedicated sales executives who are contactable remotely to support you. They are available during normal office hours Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm and are prepared to handle everything from an enquiry on a development to reserving your new home.

Our website is being constantly updated and includes our latest availability of new homes, the ability to download brochures and view many of our show homes via Matterport and the developments from Drone videos.

Customers who have bought a Bewley home, but have not yet moved in

Our teams will continue to remain in contact with you each week and will be able to discuss with you any legal or lending updates. We will do our best to update you on the build progress of your new home and anticipated timings once construction recommences. It is important that we make you aware that we may not be able to give an exact moving in date for some time, as it will be heavily dependent on the period of lockdown and material suppliers, availability of labour and whether we can safely operate on site.

Customers who are already living in their Bewley home

Our Customer Service team will continue to respond to any emergencies and will prioritise these. We remain committed to providing the best customer service we can, so while we may take longer to respond on some occasions, we remain committed to resolving any issues you may have when we safely can. Our customer service team will contact you during the first two weeks of June to arrange appointments for us to complete your remedial works, if it is safe to do so.

“For nearly 30 years Bewley Homes has been proud to provide a high-level service for its customers. We have created a highly regarded workplace for our staff and continue to give priority to the safety of our site teams and the workforces of our suppliers and contractors. We have all been listening to the Government broadcasts regarding the worldwide impact of the Coronavirus, which is now affecting the core of our daily lives. I know that I speak on behalf of the entire Bewley Homes’ board when I offer our support and best wishes to our suppliers, colleagues, contractors and customers alike at this time.”

“We have taken the decision to temporarily close our marketing suites for the protection of staff and customers together. We will be answering emails to the Marketing Suite email addresses Friday to Monday 10am to 5pm. We will be answering calls daily 8am to 9pm via our staff remotely and our call centre.”

“If we all work together, as we have always done, with respect for one another – customer and colleague, we can continue to provide the very best service, advice and support for all parties. I would also like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience during these unprecedented times.”

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to touch the lives of thousands around the world and most especially now here in the UK, we wanted to outline the steps Bewley Homes is taking to protect the quality of service we deliver to our customers. There are also several revised operational details, as sensible precautionary steps, which are being taken to help ensure the safety of our staff, customers and clients considering the COVID-19 outbreak.

This communication provides a brief overview of the plan developed as we continue to closely monitor the progress of the pandemic and the advice and analysis issued by government, the NHS and the World Health Organisation. Our plans remain subject to daily review and escalation.

Some central head office departments within Bewley Homes are now working from home to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees, suppliers and customers. These departments are still contactable through the normal telephone numbers and email addresses. This will better enable us to achieve the social distancing that health authorities believe is so critical to slowing COVID-19’s spread.  Sales centres are temporarily closed, whilst our telephone lines remain open each day.

COVID-19 has presented extraordinary challenges that were hard to imagine a few months ago. Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to maintain a level of service you have come to expect from Bewley Homes.

Our Customer Service teams will continue to be on hand during working hours each day by telephone and our out of hours lines also continue to be available. We will of course be requesting full information from customers requesting assistance to determine if there is an immediate need for a visit to be made at this time or if the situation is non urgent, or indeed if there is any risk to anyone attending a home. Contractors will be notified if customers are self-isolating and asked to contact the customer to provide remote support and advice on how to mitigate the emergency. They will also be asked to make a provisional appointment for 14+ days after the self-isolation commenced. This appointment will be confirmed with the customer based on the prevailing advice (currently 14 days self-isolation from when symptoms are felt), at which point the contractor may consider any additional measures that will be necessary.
