Andrew ThomsonSales Manager
Andrew joined Bewley Homes in September 2018 as sales manager. He has amassed over 15 years in the housebuilding industry working for a number of housebuilders including Linden Homes, as well as a spell as new homes sales manager at Romans and Featherstone Leigh Estate Agents.
Since starting at Bewley he has played a leading role in recruiting a strong, experienced sales team across all of its developments that are customer-focused.
Day to day he manages a number of sites throughout the home counties.
Brett ReevesSales Manager
Brett has been in property sales for all his career, starting life as a trainee estate agent working his way up to a senior position, before moving across to housebuilding for David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes.
Brett was recruited by Bewley in 2017 and relishes the opportunity to work for a growing, ambitious company were providing a first-class customer journey is of the upmost importance.
He relishes that no one day is the same as the next with Bewley. His role is hugely varied, one day stood in the middle of a field, the next in a beautiful new show home ready to be launched to the public.
Stuart LockeSales Manager
There are some people who are born to work in property and Stuart is one of them. He started his career in 2013 cutting his teeth with estate agents Connolls and was quickly promoted, which led to a move to a competitor – Chancellors – a few years later. Grabbing the opportunity, Stuart was named top performer on numerous occasions and promoted to Territory Manager and then Sales Manager.
A chance to start his own property business in 2016 was one he felt he couldn’t pass up and Stuart combined developing with an opportunity to work as an Associate Director for Cherry Picked, an online estate agent, which he made a name for himself in the west and south Oxfordshire area.
When Bewley identified Oxfordshire as a region for further expansion, in 2020, the company enticed Stuart to take the role as Sales Manager. It was an easy decision – Stuart admired the company, the product and the desire for customer satisfaction. Making customers happy is what drives him everyday.
Debbie WilliamsPart Exchange and Sales Contracts Manager
Debbie joined Bewley Homes in 2004 and for all but three years has spent the next 17 years with the company. Fulfilling a vital and specialist role, which is considered unique in the industry, Debbie interacts with external solicitors in the complex nature of conveyancing, nurturing reservations into exchanges often in tight timeframes.
Debbie’s career, in the property sector, began in the early 1980s working for a mortgage provider but she moved into a private practice of a local solicitors as a conveyancing secretary. With hard work, she was promoted to conveyancing assistant while gaining more experience working as an estate agent at the weekend.
While Debbie’s role can be very challenging, she says there is great satisfaction seeing a plot through from reservation to completion.
Aury SacreMarketing Manager
With seven years’ experience in the property industry, Aury is at the forefront of residential sales and marketing, having supported the Bewley brand evolution successfully through a major transformation in recent years.
Joining Bewley in 2018, Aury has also overseen the creation and development of the company’s website and integration of CRM systems.
Aury highlights Bewley’s recent recognition in the What House awards in consecutive years as testimony to the company’s on-going development and ambition.
Sarah BurridgeHead of Customer Services
Sarah has over 25 years’ experience working in the housebuilding industry having occupied a number of senior customer services roles for Taylor Wimpey, Linden Homes and St Georges. She joined Bewley Homes in 2019 and is part of the management team.
Sarah has brought in new systems, initiatives and procedures that have facilitated the company’s ambition to deliver exceptional customer service.
Sarah’s objectives are clear. She continually strives to improve the customer experience, to ensure Bewley retains its 5 Star builder status and to be a leader in customer service at the premium end of the housebuilding industry.
Ian MathewsonDevelopment Manager
Ian Mathewson has been appointed to the newly created role of Development Manager as the housebuilder gears up for expansion and a drive towards a zero-carbon future.
In this important new role Ian will be working with Bewley’s expanded land department as the company looks to increase its new homes offering and will also be heading up the company’s research and development function to incorporate the evolving regulatory changes into the business.
Ian was previously head of Bewley’s Technical Department and has more than 30 years’ experience in the housebuilding industry, the last 12 with Bewley.
Laurence SteeleSenior Technical Manager
Laurence started his career working for a highly regarded firm of local architects before joining Berkeley Homes. He also worked for Banner Homes and Cala Homes, where, during his 20 years of service, he received promotion to several positions including both Group Management and Head of Technical. Having a vast depth of knowledge on all technical matters, Laurence knows how to get the best out of both the in-house team and external consultants.
With an eye for detail and a vast experience for producing technical specifications and procedures, his remit extends to managing the technical team on a daily basis ensuring the team provide the important support required by all departments from the land team all the way through to Customer Care.
Shelly MillsCommercial Manager
Darren HillHead of Buying
Darren joined Bewley Homes in September 2019 as Head of Buying. He has amassed over 25 years in procurement working for main contractors, as well as some large house builders including Barratt Homes, Miller Homes and Cala.
Darren has used the strength of the Bewley brand to secure strong trading agreements with manufacturers and suppliers so that the company has assurance of continued supply and growth for the future.
Mick HeaverContracts Manager
With over 45 years’ experience in construction under his belt, Mick entered the industry in 1975 and has never looked back.
Self-motivated, he describes his career as a ‘great journey’ spending the last 25 years with Bewley playing an important role in the company’s growth. He spent a year overseeing the construction division which he fondly recalls as a career ‘highlight’.
With a passion for building new homes, Mick enjoys working with people and being open to learning something new every day.
Having worked for only three companies in his career, Bewley will be his last, but Mick suggests there will be a few more great years ahead before he retires.
Alan JacobsContracts Manager
Alan has worked in the housebuilding industry for two decades, including Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Redrow.
He has won prestigious awards for his developments over the years, including the NHBC’s Pride in the Job award which ranks him in the top 2% of site managers in the UK.
Alan joined Bewley in 2020 and made one of his main focuses a continued drive for building quality new build homes across the business.
Mark WigginsContracts Manager
Mark entered the construction industry straight from school and, 25 years later, he’s still going strong. In that time, he’s worked for a number of the leading UK housebuilders including Bellway, Berkeley Homes and Linden in contracts manager roles. Mark also had the opportunity to run his own building sole trader business for five years but decided to go back to working for housebuilders and move into management roles.
He joined Bewley in 2021 as Contracts Manager and is relishing the challenge. Mark enjoys the huge variety of work, the Bewley product and the people as the main reasons why he looks forward to working every day.
Angela TerrettHR Manager
With nearly four decades in HR, Angela brings a wealth of experience to her role as HR Manager at Bewley, having worked in a number of industries including facilities management, telecoms, retail and defence.
Angela joined Bewley two years ago to help the company find a permeant HR Manager and the rest they say is history! Her goal each day is to ‘make a difference’.
Matt JenkinsHealth, Safety & Environmental Manager
Matt joined Bewley in May 2020 at an extremely challenging time for the company while it was preparing to reopen its sales offices and construction sites during the pandemic. He played a key role in making sure systems and processes were in place to keep staff, subcontractors and customers as safe as possible. The HSE actually commended Bewley on its robust Covid measures.
Over the last five years, Matt has worked in senior health and safety advisory roles for a number of leading housebuilders.
He sees his main duty as advising the company directors and managers on all aspects of safety, health and environmental matters to ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations.
Other areas include formulating and implementing policies and procedures, monitoring developments’ health and safety performances, identifying trends, developing actions plans and reporting to the Board.
Andy LangfeldFinancial Controller
Andy heads up the Bewley finance team reporting directly into Financial Director Terry Bacon. His route into finance had initially been within Hampshire County Council, which then led to other accounting roles.
The opportunity to work within the housebuilding and the Bewley finance team came about nearly eight years ago when Upton McGoogan went through a buy out and Andy was looking for a new role.
Along with many Bewley staff, Andy was attracted to Bewley’s ambition and desire to grow while keeping a family business ethos. This has in turn provided him with opportunities to progress and develop professionally.
Along with keeping a tight rein on the company’s finances, Andy’s role is also to deliver management information, laying the foundations for business protocols, and supporting the build/sales management meetings.
Richard DaviesIT Manager
Richard joined Bewley Homes in 2018 initially to develop its data and analytics capability but was soon promoted to IT Manager overseeing the IT function within the business.
He has worked for many years in the utilities sector in a variety of analytical, technical and project-based roles gaining experience across a wide range of fields within IT.
Since starting at Bewley, Richard has worked on several projects to invest significantly in the company’s core IT infrastructure and cyber security systems ensuring its systems are robust and customer data is protected to the highest standards.
Richard particularly enjoys working for Bewley with its strong ideals, a keen eye to the future and willingness to invest in and embrace new technologies to stay at the forefront of the industry.
